Culture: Oranssi Pazuzu - Black Metal From Finland @ Caracol, Madrid

(Drivebycuriosity) - Heavy Metal is global. During our stay in Madrid my wife and I watched a concert by Oranssi Pazuzu, a black metal band from Finland. Oranssi is Finnish for Orange and Pazuzu is a Babylonian demon, and also (as such) a character in the film "The Exorcist" (metal-archives). The gig happened @ Caracol, a small hall in Madrid´s south.

The five musicians (3 guitars plus keyboard & percussions) are perfectionists. It took a lot time to fine tune their instruments and to adapt them to the system of the hall. But the result justified the efforts.  The show was pure bliss. Oranssi Pazuzu`s performance was wild & explosive. They created tsunamis of sound which sucked the audience into their vortex.  Yes, so could it be if the mighty demon gets really angry. They kept the stage in spare light in created so a demonic atmosphere that fit perfectly to the sound. 

We are hoping that we can watch Oranssi Pazuzu again.
