Traveling: A Walk Along The River Thames

(Drivebycuriosity) - I am back in London. I had visited UK`s capital 3 times before, the last visit was in the year 2000. This is the first visit together with my wife Sarah. We are staying in a flat in Vauxhall, south of the river. Yesterday, the first full day of our stay, we walked along the Thames towards Tate Modern. Fortunately the weather had improved from our arrival day, the rain had stopped and temperatures were around 60 F (15 C). Here are some snapshots from this walk.

Vauxhall seems to be swiftly gentrifying, there are lots of high rises and construction places.

On our walk we enjoyed the grandiose panorama.

and we got impressed by the Westminster complex. Unfortunately Big Ben was hidden behind a construction fence.

St. Paul`s Cathedral also greeted us from beyond the river

The skyscrapers from London`s city - bank & insurance towers - delivered a fascinating contrasting program

We also passed the Eye and saw the Millenium Bridge

We noticed some flamboyant pubs & restaurants on our way

The river carried a lot boats & ships including this container bark.

To be continued
