Culture: Paul Klee - "Les Klee Du Paradis" @ Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg, Berlin

("Die Heilige vom innern Licht/The Saint of the Inner Light""; "neues Spiel beginnt/New Game begins"

(Drivebycuriosity) - Paul Klee was one of the finest painters of the 20th century. The Swiss German`s "highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism, and surrealism", explains Wikipedia (wikipedia).

("der Bock/The He-Goat"; "Die Idee der Türme/The Idea of Towers")

You can discover his works (a large part of it) by yourself if you visit this exhibition: "Les Klee du paradis - Paul Klee in the Collections of the Nationalgalerie" (smb.museum). You will find the show at Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg, which is a part of the "Staatliche Museen (public museums) of Berlin (Schloßstraße opposite of Schloss Charlottenburg). But you have to hurry, the show will end on August 31 2014. In an other part of the building you also can see the exhibition "Surreale Welten/Surreal Worlds" (I reported about this here  driveby).

(from above: "Landschaft im Paukenton/Landscape in a Kettledrum`s Tone"; "versiegelte Dame/The Sealed Lady";"Pflanze und Fenster Stilleben/Still Life with Plant and Window"; "Blauer Berg/Blue Mountain"; "bebende Kapelle/Chapel Quaking")

According to the museum`s website "'Les Klee du paradis' means 'The Klees of paradise'. At the same time, the name 'Klee' sounds similar to the French word for 'key' (clé)". Anyway, I indulged into the elegance and humor of these timeless works.

("Landschaft in blau/Landscape in Blue"; "Y vereinzelt/Y isolated")

Let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy.
