Architecture: A Glance Into San Ildenfonso College Mexico City

(Drivebycuriosity) - My wife and I are back from Mexico City. We are impressed how beautiful this mega-city looks, there are so many amazing palaces, mansions and other buildings. Last week we took a look into San Ildefonso College which was founded in 1588 by the Jesuits. They extended the building in 1712 and completed it in 1749 (wikipedia). Today the place is used as museum & cultural center.

Above a glance into the wonderful atrium.

This amazing hallway reminds me of Stanley Kubrick`s "The Shining" - or is it something not NSFW?

There are also some murals by the Mexican artist José Clemente Orozco. Above details from "Maternidad" & "Mujeres".

This window alone is worth a visit.

To be continued
