Fredericks & Freiser in Manhattan`s Chelsea district shows a collection of funny paintings by
Jenna Gribbon (through November 2, 2019
fredericksfreiser ). I especially like the comical wrestling scenes. The press release claims that "Gribbon’s wrestling series takes on the art-historical trope of grappling figures, extending from the bulging Greek athletes in Archaic friezes to the lean youths of Thomas Eakins’s canvases".
Anyway, the images are colorful, fresh & amusing.

I also like the expressionist & powerful brush strokes.
