Garis & Hahn & on Manhattan´s traditional Bowery (
garis) is working against that. The art dealer has now a show called "Beyond the Gaze: Women painting Women (through April 17, 2016).
From the press release: "While employing voyeurism from an uniquely female perspective, the paintings adhere to a more psychological understanding of representation by letting an informal yet stylized approach take precedence over glorified forms" (
content).
