New York City: Like A Bird On A Wire

(Drivebycuriosity) - New York City is full of surprises and entertainment. Almost every day there is something new to discover. Yesterday I spotted a performance by Bello Nock on Times Square (wikipedia).

The high-wire acrobat balanced on a chair over the Times Square as you can see in this series of pictures. The artist was advertising for himself, his upcoming shows and his company & website "TheUltimate.com (theultimate).

Nock announced a schedule of events in Cities like London, Paris & Berlin, culminating in a Las Vegas show, that can be downstreamed from his website for a fee (kxnet). According to Wikipedia Nock "is referred to as the World's Greatest Dare Devil. He has been featured in the Guinness Book of World Records for a high wire walk over a cruise ship, and has performed several stunts in New York City including at Madison Square Garden and the Statue of Liberty" (wikipedia).

The Times Square show reminded me a bit of Leonard Cohen´s song "Bird on a wire" (youtube). The artist seemed to be perfectly at ease and apparently rested in his chair in the air while communicating wireless (Bluetooth?) with a woman on the ground.
