(Drivebycuriosity) - Zombie movies are very popular, science fiction films too. Why no making a "science-fiction-zombie-movie"? Maybe this was the idea for the film "The Last Days on Mars" (imdb). They also could have called it "Zombies on Mars".
How did these zombies come on the lifeless Mars? They didn`t explain. The plot didn`t really work for me. It seems that the producers used a kind of modular system. They mixed a lot of ideas from movies like "Gravity", "Alien", "Europa Report", "28 Days Later" together and knitted their own story, with little success. Solid actors like Liev Schreiber, Elias Koteas & Olivia Williams were wasted on this plot.
But I liked the cinematography. The movie looked good, thanks to the technological advance which reduces the costs of special effects enormously. This allowed the producers to create a claustrophobic ambience which provided some thrill the plot failed to.
"The last Days on mars" might be entertaining for the fans of the zombie genre.
