Contemporary Art: The Universe Of Jim Shaw @ New Museum, New York

(Drivebycuriosity) - Jim Shaw is amazing. The Los Angeles based artist created an universe of his own. His artwork is a lot of fun because he likes to entertain and to provoke. You can see this now @ New York`s New Museum which has a remarkable Jim Shaw retrospective, called: "The End is here" (newmuseum).

On three floors they present hundreds of paitings, drawings, sculptures and installations. You can explore there a huge variety of styles, ideas and techniques. Shaw´s artworks spreads from huge murals an tapestry, includings a lot of jokes about American culture, politics and religous cults - and there a lot sexual explicit drawings.
