(Drivebycuriosity) - Poor Russians. McDonald`s shut down their business in Russia as a response to Putin´s invasion of the Ukraine. And so do Starbucks & Coca Cola (cnn ). But will the Russian be really poorer without these American chains?
I gave up on McDonald`s, Starbucks & Coca Cola a long time ago. I assume the Russians will live healthier without American junk food & junk drinks. I also expect that smart investors will take advantage of the American retreat. There might come Russian Hamburgers, Russian Colas & Russian coffee to go. And entrepreneurs from China, India and other countries might fill the gap as well.
The retreat is a setback for American imperialism. Who needs McDonald`s anyway?
PS. The Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra scrubbed Tchaikovsky, the Russian composer, from an upcoming program, calling his music "inappropriate at this time." (reason ). What a fucked up world!
