Contemporary Art: What`s New @ Lower East Side´s Galleries, New York City

(Drivebycuriosity) - I like to visit the art galleries in my neighborhood. New York`s trendy Lower East Side may have more than 100 art traders who focuse on contemporary art. There is always something new and interesting to see.

The Dacia Gallery (53 Stanton Street daciagallery) seems to focus on erotical art work. In October I reported about their group show "Protinus" (driveby ). Now they have a new collection (in the moment of writing this post their website wasn`t updated). My favorite there is the painting you can see on the top of this post. The picture reminds me a bit of the sistine chapel and the work of the pre raphaelites.

The Gallery Molly Krom (53C Stanton Street  gallerykrom) is showing works by Cristina Fiorenza: "The Muttering Retreats" (through Januar 7, 2015).

The Van Der Plas Gallery (156 Orchard Street  vanderplasgallery) has a group exhibition called "red, yellow, orange" which contains works by Ford Crull, Debra Drexler & Peggy Cyphers.

Let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!
