(Drivebycuriosity) - Mediocrity is king. Many people are worshiping mediocre persons because they are mediocre themselves. The film "Juliet, Naked" shows an example (imdb). Nobody gets naked there, and you don´t see any "Juliet". The plot focuses on an obscure pop singer named Tucker, who had retired a long time ago. However there is a cult around him, and Duncan, the owner of a blog about the singer, calls himself a "world expert on Tucker", but he is neglecting his long-time girl friend Anny. The plot evolves around Tucker, Duncan & frustrated Anny and touches issues like partnership, adultery, family, star-cult, social networks and more (this is a spoiler free blog ).
I didn`t like the flick. The characters, especially Duncan`s, were pathetic, the music was sugary & bad and the cinematography mediocre. On the website Rotten Tomatoes the film got an approval rating of 74% & the competitor Metacritic gave the film a rating of 62 out of 100 (wikipedia). Mediocrity is king.
