Contemporary Art: Nicolas de Crécy`s Ruthless Portraits @ Philippe Labaune Gallery New York

(Drivebycuriosity) - Manhattan`s classy Chelsea district is always worth a visit. My wife and I went to see there to see the gorgeous Walton Ford exhibition @ Gagosian on 24th street. Unfortunately the paintings are behind glass which mirrors the light - unfortunate for photographing. But on the same blog we get compensated. Philippe Labaune Gallery presented “Ruthless Portrait” an exhibition of paintings and drawings by French artist Nicolas de Crécy (philippelabaune ). I display my favorites here, a very subjective selection as usual.

On top of this post you can see "Les 3 Grâces" (2021, Oil on canvas, 20 x 28 inches) followed by "Le Tableau (The Painting)" (2021, Oil on board, 21.75 x 26.25 inches) & "Soir Bleu, Hommage à Hopper" (2021, Oil on canvas, 20.25 x 26.25 inches).

Above follow "Le Pendule de Foucault, (Foucault’s Pendulum)" (2021, Oil on canvas,32.5 x 46.25 inches); "Regard de Bronze, (A Bronze Gaze)" (2021, Oil on canvas, 20.25 x 28 inches) & "Apparition Autocratique" (2015, Oil on wood, 12.25 x 18.25 inches).
