Contemporary Art: A Visit @ Museo Napoli Novecento 1910-1980

(Drivebycuriosity) - When I visit a city I like to see her museums. Naples (Napoli) has plenty of interesting collections. During a visit of the Castel Sant'Elmo, a medieval fortress on the top of one of Naples`plenty mountains and part of the neighborhood Vomero, we discovered there the Museum Museo Napoli Novecento 1910-1980 (polomusealecampania). They display work by local artists, some of them are quite impressive. I show here my favorites, a very subjective selection as usual.

On top of this post you can see "Funicolore" by Alberto Chiancone.

Above you can see "I maggio" by Emilio Nolte followed by "Morte di Marat" by Elio Waschimps.

Above: "Immagine" by Elio Waschimps; "Paesaggio con racconti di pinate del mare" by Tony Stefanucci & "Zuffa" by Domenico Spinosa.

Above: "Lùratore" by Carmine Di Ruggiero. I don`t know the second artist.

The show had some nudes of course. Artists are seldom prudish. "Elena" by Giuseppe Antonello Leone; "Nudo (o la dormiente)" by Mario Cortiello & "Trittico con figure allegoriche" by Edoardo Pansini.

This funny man goes with the title "La scultura" and was created by Luigi Mainolfi.

To be continued.
