Science Fiction: Future Scope By Kevin Schillo

(Drivebycuriosity) - How will the world look in 20 or 30 years? This is an interesting question for futurists, investors & science fiction writers. Kevin Schillo, a scientist with NASA experience, had some stimulating ideas which he published in his scifi short story collection "Future Scope" (amazon). In 6 stories and over 122 pages he presents speculations about the near future. The book is hard science fiction, based on science & logic, like once Heinlein, Clark & Asimov wrote.

I have 2 favorites. In "The Janus Array" some researchers are in big trouble because they are stranded on the backside of the moon after an accident (this is a spoiler-free blog). Schillo caught the dramatic situation convincingly. In "Thor´s Charriot" an US mariner travels on a high-tech mission to the Middle East to free a group of hostages. The rest of the stories contain some thought provoking philosophical - and almost theological - musings about the future.

The little book is apparently self-published and costs in the moment of writing just 99 cents - a bargain.
