(Drivebycuriosity) - It`s November again. Time for Manhattan`s big fall auctions. At Phillips, one of New York`s large auction houses, I saw the gallery for their 20th Century & Contemporary Art Sales ( phillips)
I was overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the displayed art works. As usual at Phillips I saw a lot of avantgarde and up-and-com·ing artists.
I only can show here my favorites, a very subjective selection as usual. Above you can see Cy Twombly’s “Untitled” from 2005, one of the artist’s last great works, followed by Alex Katz`s "The grey dress".
Above follows Marlene Dumas`"Snow White in the Wrong Story". Provocative as usual.
Above you can see "Bum" by Anna Weyant; "Playroom" by Jonas Wood & "Miss Fist Kiss" by Danica Lundy.
Above "After the Storm" by Christina BamBam.
Last but not least: David Salle`s "Nothing To Do With Flags" plus a detail shot.
To be continued
