(Drivebycuriosity) - It`s November again. Time for Manhattan`s big fall auctions. This weekend I went to Sotheby´s to see their galleries for their modern art auctions which include the Impressionists (ca. 1870 - Word War II sothebys) . I spotted there many awesome paintings and I display here my personal favorites, a very subjective selection as usual.
Above you can see Tamara de Lempicka´s "Poretait de Romana de La Salle" followed by Jan-Pierre Cassigneulle´s "La Capeline Verte".
Isn`t this cool?
Norman Rockwell´s "Baker reading Diet Book" still gets a lot attention and Fernando Botero`s "El Nuncio" is still funny.
Isn´t she lovely?: "Portrait of Sarah Burke" by Robert Henri followed by Camille Bombois`wonderful "Pecheur Au Bord De LÈAU" & Armando Morales`"Selva Tropical I"
I also love the "Flores Y Toro" & "Flore" by Alejandro Obregón followed by Armando Morales`"Mujer de Punte de Regrasar"
I would like to take a look into Takoniori Okuiss`"Papeterie Mecerie Jornaux" and play with Francoise Gilot`s "Le Marionnettes"
There was much more. Including this skull of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. He live apporx 67 million years ago. Found in South Dakota. Estimate $15-20 Million.
To be continued
