(Drivebycuriosity) - I love contemporary art. So I went to New
York´s auction houses to see their galleries for their fall auctions in
Post War and Contemporary art. But Sotheby´s & Christie`s had more
gems. They also displayed work they had amassed for their auctions of
Impressionists & Modern Art (ca. 1870 - Word War II). I spotted
there many awesome paintings and I display here my personal favorites, a
 very subjective selection as usual.
On top of this post you can see Ivan Kliun`s  "Spherical
Supremtism" (1923-25, oil on board laid on canvas) which is earmarked
for a Sotheby´s auction in London. Above this paragraph follows another favorite of mine:  Georgia O`Keefe´s "Anthurium" also seen @ Sotheby`s
I spotted these wonderful ladies @ Christie`s: Jean-Pierre Cassigneul`s "Nu à la blouse verte" & Camille Bombois` "Nu dans un intérieur",
I am a big fan of René Magritte. Christie`s showed his "La goutte d'eau" followed by "Stimulation objective";"Le seize Septembre" &  " Les fleurs de labile".
Christie`s also displayed Salvador Dalí`s  "Le cavalier à la tour" and his "Décor pour Roméo et Juliette".
There were more surrealists. Sotheby´s had Frederico Castellon`s "The Harem Favorite" &  Remedio Varo`s "L`Ecole Buissoniére ".
Christie`s also offered Claude Monet`s "La maison de l'artiste à Giverny" & "Iris".
Sotheby`s had Henri Lebasque`s wonderful "Petit Modèle au cannot"
and Tamara de Lempicka`s Les Deuy Amies" & her "La Tunique Rose"
plus Ean-Pierre Cassigneu`s "Rendezvous De Frangony".
There was also an early work by Pablo Picasso. His "Portriat de Lola, soeur de LÀrtiste" (Oil on Panel Painted in Barcelona in 1901).
At Christie`s I enjoyed Albert Marquet´s wonderful "Le pont sur le canal".
Above 2 paintings by Ricardo Martinez Mujer: "Con Fruta" & "Paternidad" (both Sotheby`s)
To be continued
