(Drivebycuriosity) - China`s star is rising. The country is not only becoming an economic superpower, People´s Republic is also gaining importance in the world of art. A population of about 1.4 billion is a huge reservoir for artists of any kind. I expect in the coming years we will notice more & more Chinese artists who will climb to the ranks of Richter, Basquiat & Rothko. The gallery Green Naftali in Manhattan`s art district Chelsea shows works of Gang Zhao, one of China´s rising art stars. The show is called "Passage to Dynasty" (through April 19th greenenaftali).
