(Drivebycuriosity) - My wife and I are still in Europe. Last Tuesday we moved from Berlin to London. We stayed to 2 nights in a (not really pleasant) hotel on the River Thames (Albert Embankment) and moved then to an Airbnb place in the posh Fitzrovia district.
It happened that her Majesty, the British Queen, celebrated 70 years of regency (crowned 1952), her Platinum Jubilee. London had a Four day Bank Holiday and the masses celebrated on the places & streets of the British Capital. The once in a lifetime event attracted a huge crowd, especially around the Buckingham Palace. There were concerts, parties and a flamboyant parade on Sunday,
It was difficult to walk around because many streets & places were blocked. We could no see much because the Greenpark and the area around the Buckingham Palast were closed and reserved for ticket holders.
Apparently
the Queen has a good standing with higher powers. It did not rain during
the four-days event and everything stayed peaceful & joyful,
thanks to the organization and the sheer countless helpers &
security personell.
Stay tuned
