(Drivebycuriosity)
- Artists aren`t prudish and they often like to provoke. You certainly can say that from a show at Fortnight Institute in Manhattan`s East Village. Certainly NSFW.
The images below challenge the limits of art but being a connoisseur of contemporary art & reporter of the gallery scene in my neighborhood I have to display these images anyway.
Phallic Feminism
The art dealer displays paintings by Polish artist Agata Slowak (fortnight mutualart). The show is called "Time is Love". The press release calls it "refreshing take on phallic feminism", whatever that may mean ( exhibitions).
On top of this post you can see "Swansong" followed by "Joanna with the Pig"; "You were cold in my shadow"; "Situation with Polar Bear & Fox" & "Sperm flooded the Brain". Maybe that explains her paintings.
She`s really on the kinky side: "Penis Constellation"; "From the Cycle, White Balls on the Wall"; "Self-portrait with Sperm and Blood Crossing"
Maybe good Agata wants just to make some fast cash.
