(Drivebycuriosity) - - I am back from London where I stayed 6 weeks. I was fascinated by the architecture there. There are so many amazing buildings, some look really majestic. In the late 19th century - during the Victorian Epoch - there was a Gothic Revival. Many constructors, city planners & architects were apparently impressed by medieval palaces & cathedrals.
Above some images from the Royal Courts of Justice designed by George Edmund Street. The building is a large grey stone edifice in the Victorian Gothic style built in the 1870s and opened by Queen Victoria in 1882.
Above St Pancras, a railway station - containing also a luxury hotel - designed by William Henry Barlow and opened 1868.
Above some similar buildings.
