(Drivebycuriosity) - It`s November again and the world`s largest auction houses have their annual huge fall auctions in Manhattan. This post focuses on Post War & Contemporary Art @ Christie`s ( christies ).
Quality & Quantity of the displayed art works were overwhelming and admission was free. I display here just my favorites, a very subjective selection as usual.
This post starts with Christopher Wool`s "Untitled" followed by Harold Ancart´s painting, which is "Untitled" as well.
Above follow "Studio Nap" by Danielle Orchard & "Family Day Out" by Genieve Figgis.
Works by South African artist Marlene Dumas are easy to recognize. Above her`"Stage Fright" & Julian Schnabel`s "Untitled (Girl with no eyes)".
Above follow Mai Anh`s "Solar Eclipse" ; Louis Fratino`s "Maryland Summer Storm" & Scott Kahn`s "Twilight".
Above you can see Robert Colescott´s "Sign and Monuments (Kilroy)" ; Gary Simmons`"20-20 Fall" & Alfonso Ossorios`"Heart`s Hope (Ship of State)".
Then follow "The Psychoanalytic Puppeteer Losing His Mind" by George Condo; "The Assessors" by Jack Vetriano & "Galatea #9" by Mel Ramos.
Last but not least: Salmon Toor´s "Liberty Porcelan".
To be continued
