(Drivebycuriosity) - Bangkok has many faces. The cityscape is defined by skyscrapers and the ubiquitous Buddhist temples, called Wat, which are spread over the giant metropolis.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, short Wat Arun, belongs to the landmarks of the city. The temple, located on the west shore of the Chao Phray River, is named after the Hindu God Aruna, who represents sun rise.
The temple, located on the Western border of the Chao Phraya River, can be seen from far thanks to its spire, called prang, which is encrusted with colorful porcelain.
Above some of the wonderful Buddha statues inside the temple.
Wat Arun attracts a lot of people, some are dressed in fancy historical costumes.
I love the stone guardians and other sculptures.
To be continued
