(Drivebycuriosity) - Chiang Mai, the economic center of Northern Thailand, is an amazing place. Like other Thai cities the metropolis is blessed with ubiquitous Buddhist temples, called Wat. On a hike through the center of the city we passed Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon.
The temple is located on the river and has an own pier. I am amazed by the filigree & colorful structure of the buildings.
Above one of the fanciful roof ornaments
I enjoyed the wonderful sculptures
... and the Buddha inside the temple. The blue carpet is very smooth
the complex has a lot of plants, including this cannonball tree.
To be continued
