(Drivebycuriosity) - Bangkok is a place full of wonders. There is so much diversity and modern parts mix with very old districts. I already posted my pics from The Grand Palace, some huge temple complexes, called Wat, and a market. Here I display some more impressions.
The center of the metropolis looks like Manhattan.
But around the center there are many historic parts.
Bangkok looks a bit like Amsterdam, there are so many canals. Some are giving shelter to the less fortunate.
Some streets are heavy wired - for instance because there are many shops for electronics - and look industrial.
Above you can see the Royal Plaza with equestrian statue of King Chulalongkorn
Some places are full of tropical magic
There is something for everyone. Bangkok offers elegant hotels
... and places for backpackers.

These fellows live on the stairs to the Thewes Pier where we took the ferries down the Chao Phraya River to The Grand Palace, Wat Arun and other destionations.
The Thai love street food. There are food stands almost everywhere.
But Bangkok offers fine dining as well. Above elements of a tasting menu @ Baan Phraya.
To be continued
