(Drivebycuriosity) - My wife and I stayed in Vauxhall, a neighborhood
south of the Thames and the first part of our long London visit. Vauxhall is a residential area and many residents live in social housing (wikipedia). But some parts are rapidly gentrifying, especially along the Thames.

Brexit or not - London has still plenty huge construction sides, including Vauxhall river front.
